Saint Louis Scooter Forum — Logo and Flier Design
The Saint Louis Scooter Forum is an internet forum that exists to connect St. Louis area motor-scooterists both online and in person. It provides resources and information particularly of interest to scooterists. The forum allows members to organize themselves, connect with others regarding technical issues, and spread the word about club activities and events such as rides and rallies.
The logo needed to clearly represent both scooters and St. Louis and work as part of a header on the forum itself as well as translate into print for use on fliers and posters. This is the final logo design in color:
The colors red, white and blue were chosen specifically as references to the mod target; a symbol borrowed from the British Royal Air Force by the Modernist (Modist) youth subculture. The Mods, as they were often called, were known for riding Italian motor-scooters and the symbol is often associated with scooters today.

Following is the flier design, also in available in black and white. Fliers were designed as a convenient way for members to invite others to the forum, and made available as downloadable PDFs to be self printed.

My Process:
Following are several versions of the logo I created, including my first draft of the current logo.

The above logo was well recieved by members of the forum, and I performed refinements to better increase legibility and add color in a meaningful way.
